MMS FoxBox is designed to handle MMS messages WITHOUT asking to mobile users to send messages to different APN or E-mail addresses, MMS are handled as you are writing to a standard mobile phone.
For a successfully MMS FoxBox configuration you have simply to fill a form with MMS Settings of your AIR carrier.



These six fileds are all you need to start receiving Multimedia Messages.

1- Insert the APN (ACCESS POINT)
The first field Access Point Name or APN is the name of an access point for GPRS, be carefull in choosing the correct APN for MMS. Almost all providers gives you a different APN for MMS over GPRS download, do not put here the standard APN for GPRS internet navigation or probably your provider will charge for the service.

2- Insert the URL to Servlets
The MMS receiving is completely TCP/IP based, the protocol used for MMS download is HTTP, please fill this field with the URL to the servlet processing the message as specified by your air carrier, DO NOT PUT in the filed the first part http://.... but only the relative URL.

3- Insert the username or leave the filed empty for none
In this field you have to specify the Username for APN authentication, generally is not needed, use this filed if your air carrier supports it.

4- Insert the password or leave the filed empty for none
In this field you have to specify the Password for APN authentication, generally is not needed, use this filed if your air carrier supports it.

5- Specify the PROXY IP
Insert in this filed the IP of the proxy server designed by your AIR carrier

6- Specify the port used by the proxy
Insert here the proxy port to be used as specified by your carrier

Below there is a list of settings for ITALIAN AIR carriers MMS over GPRS connections:

VODAFONE ITALY
1- APN (ACCESS POINT NAME): mms.vodafone.it
2- URL to servlets: promms/servlets
3- Username: Leave empty (default)
4- Password: Leave empty (default)
5- PROXY IP: 10.128.224.10
6- Proxy PORT: 80

TIM ITALY
1- APN (ACCESS POINT NAME): mms.tim.it
2- URL to servlets: servlets/mms
3- Username: Leave empty (default)
4- Password: Leave empty (default)
5- PROXY IP: 213.230.130.89
6- Proxy PORT: 80

WIND ITALY
1- APN (ACCESS POINT NAME): mms.wind
2- URL to servlets: empty
3- Username: Leave empty (default)
4- Password: Leave empty (default)
5- PROXY IP: 212.245.244.011
6- Proxy PORT: 80

SPECIAL TUNING FOR USA T-Mobile

Download and replace the /mnt/flash/root/source/mmsbox/parseurl.sh script with the downloaded one

In the MMS FoxBox configuration specify following settings for the United States
T-Mobile carrier:

APN: wap.voicestream.com
URL: servlets/mms
Proxy IP: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080

When there is no port number mentioned for the WAP Gateway, use port 9201 for MMS 1.x versions and port 8080 for MMS 2.x versions. FoxBox support MMS 1.x and MMS 2.x
